THE DREAM OF GERONTIUS
Saturday, Nov 18, 2023, 7:30pm
St Mary Catholic Church
Based on the poem by John Henry Newman, Edward Elgar's The Dream of Gerontius follows the journey of a man's soul through death, judgment, and purgatory.
“Anyone who doubts the fact of Elgar's genius should take the first opportunity of hearing The Dream of Gerontius, which remains his masterpiece, as it is his largest and perhaps most deeply felt work.”
